Estate Tax Exemption Increases

The IRS has unveiled the estate-tax exemption for 2015, announcing that the threshold will rise to $5.43 million per individual from $5.34 million this year, thanks to an inflation adjustment. Married couples, meanwhile, can get the benefit of two individual exemptions, WSJ Total Return blog points out, meaning the 2015 total exemption per couple will be nearly $11 million.
